Move at odds with Manx Wildlife Trust advice
A project to bring a limited number of red squirrels to the Isle of Man is being considered by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
Minister Geoffrey Boot says that whilst it's not taking place quite yet, he's excited at the prospect of introducing the species here.
It's as the animal is included on the UK's first Red List of endangered UK mammals.
Mr Boot says bringing an 'experimental small population' is a possibility here.
However the move is at odds with recent advice from the Manx Wildlife Trust.
