Initiative to foster better communication
A tenants' representative in Ramsey says she can work with the town's commissioners to give those in public sector housing a voice at boardroom level.
Catherine Stark has been in the role for a year, and works with the local authority to help 'shape and determine' housing policy and services.
Described as the 'eyes and ears' of the community, she's been working to act as a friendly, approachable figure for tenants, to relay their views to the housing committee.
Mrs Stark is available to contact Monday to Friday between 7pm to 9pm on 472498 or by emailing housingreprtc@gmail.com.
The representative role was brought into being last year to ensure opinions on issues such as housing management and repairs are heard by decision-makers.
Ramsey Commissioners are the third largest provider of public sector housing on the Island, with 553 properties in their stock.
Mrs Stark told Local Democracy Reporter Ewan Gawne, she's been working to provide clear lines of communication between tenants and commissioners.
