Findings show extent of alcohol and drug use
An independent study has found a growing number of older residents are harming themselves with alcohol and other drugs.
Addicition service Motiv8 spoke to elderly people and health workers as part of the three year investigation.
Among the findings were a high incidence of binge drinking among over-55s and a growing pattern of cannabis and opiate-based substance misuse among those approaching retirement age.
