A Methodist minister in Douglas is questioning the motives behind a government bill, which would allow public roads to be closed on Sundays throughout the year.
The Road Races Amendment Bill goes to the Keys for its second reading today (Tuesday).
It's been drawn up to allow for cycle racing during the Commonwealth Youth Games in September, as current legislation only permits road closures for motorbike events.
However, Reverend David Shirtliff says the scope of the bill is far too wide:
