
Major roadworks begin on a key route into Douglas this morning.
New Castletown Road will be closed to all traffic between Cooil Road and Annacur Lane for the next five days.
It's for the laying of a sewer in a three-metre deep trench across the road, to serve a new a housing development at Pulrose Farm.
It's one of the busiest stretches of road in the capital and will mean thousands of vehicles diverted around the works.
Director of Highways Richard Pearson outlined the options for drivers setting-off for work and school this morning:
