More details have been released about next week’s royal visit to the Isle of Man.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are coming to the Island next Thursday, but until now organisers have been tight-lipped about the trip.
However, Clarence House has now confirmed where the royal couple will visit.
After meeting Peter Kennaugh and watching a youngster’s cycling race at the National Sports Centre, they’ll spend most of the day in Peel.
Their Royal Highnesses will spend most of the afternoon in the Sunset City, stopping first at the House of Manannan to meet local farmers, charity representatives and politicians.
From there, they’ll head out to the quayside, where they’ll meet the crew of the Vital Spark, the Viking longboat which will take part in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
After being introduced to local fisherman, they’ll be given a tour of the new Isle of Man Food Park on Mill Road – which they’ll also officially launch.
And finally, in keeping with the day’s maritime theme, they’ll head to Peel Breakwater to meet the staff of Peel Lifeboat Station.
