The group's annual running costs are around £7000
Port St Mary Commissioners says it will be supporting Rushen Silver Band with its fundraising endeavours over the festive period.
It's asked for permission from the local authority to go door to door in the village, from 1 December, to raise money.
The band says it needs £7,000 to be able to keep going for another 12 months.
The festive period gives them the opportunity to play for the community and do their much needed fundraising.
Chair of Port St Mary Commissioners Bernadette Williams has described the group as ‘fabulous’:

Superstock race rescheduled for TT Race Day 3
Around 40 arrested over the weekend
Rushen MHK to stand for re-election in September
Visitor arrested for using drone during TT Superbike race
