Take care on roads
This morning's (Fri) 8.45am sailing to Heysham has been cancelled due to the high winds.
The Steam Packet made the announcement just before 7am. It means of course there will be no 2.15pm return service.
However, based on the current forecast the company hopes this evening's 7.45pm sailing will be able to go as normal.
Meanwhile, emergency services are advising people to take care around the Island today, as Storm Barbara sweeps across the Island bringing wind speeds of up to 70 miles per hour between 8am and 3pm.
Heavy rain can also be expected at times and drivers should look out for any localised flooding or debris on the road.
