40-year-old will stand trial
A Salford man will stand trial after being accused of importing half a kilo of cannabis to the Isle of Man.
Wesley Maddix, of Bury Street, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he denied committing the offence on 18 May.
The 40-year-old has also been accused of possessing the Class A drug with intent to supply it and possession of £16,260 of criminal property.
Both offences allegedly took place on Central Promenade.
Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – will take place on 6 August.
There was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until that date.
Update: Committal proceedings are now due to take place on 10 September.
