Ewe found injured
Two new-born lambs have been killed at Langness in the south of the Island, in a ferocious attack by an uncontrolled dog.
Farmer Kirree Kermode made the grim discovery when she checked on stock being grazed on the peninsula yesterday (23 March).
The pair - one black and one white - were left with distressing injuries, including what's described as crushed ribs, spine and skull.
One ewe was found with an injured leg and wool torn from her back.
The lambs were in an area where signs order dogs must be kept on a lead - the loss comes a month after the NFU launched a campaign aimed at dog walkers.
