Henry Bloom Noble primary opens today
A new era in education has begun in the Island today, with the opening of Henry Bloom Noble primary school in Douglas.
The £9.5 million facility replaces two of the Island's oldest school buildings, where facilities were limited and space at a premium.
HBN on Westmoreland Road caters for 300 pupils, offering spacious and flexible teaching areas, ultra-modern classrooms and extensive outdoor play and sports facilities.
There's also a dedicated special needs unit and a lift for disabled pupils and staff.
A complete contrast to the cramped conditions and limited play areas at the Ballacloan and Fairfield school sites in central Douglas.
The sports hall, courts, pitches and changing facilities will be available for hire by local community groups.
