Police hopeful QEII will reopen tomorrow
Police have confirmed a threat involving an 'alleged explosive device' led to disruption across Peel this afternoon.
An email was received shortly before 4pm relating to QEII and Peel Castle.
Both locations were subsequently evacuated and key routes into the town were closed off.
Emergency services have confirmed firearms officers, and specialist search officers, were then deployed to search the grounds of both the school and castle.
Searches are ongoing this evening.
It is hoped the school will be open in the morning, but parents are asked to check school media channels first thing. Manx Radio will also have an update on air and online as soon as possible.
Police have thanked the public for their patience.
