Promise after indecent child image case
The public will help decide on sentencing options for anyone found guilty of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
Minister for Home Affairs Bill Malarkey says it'll go out to public consultation as part of a wider review of 'outdated' sexual offences legislation this summer.
Sentencing options for such crimes is now being decided by the Attorney General's Chambers.
It seeks to replace the Sexual Offences Act 1992.
