Kitchen appliance found to be cause of blaze
Emergency services were called out this afternoon to a house fire in St Johns.
Crews from Peel and Douglas received reports of a blaze at The Hope in St Johns at 4:20pm.
The occupant was out of the smoke-logged property by the time services arrived.
A Breathing Apparatus team entered the property to investigate, finding the fire confined to a single kitchen appliance.
It was extinguished using a high-pressure hose-reel by crews, who then ventilated the property and remained in attendance for 45 minutes.
