MHK's warning as chief constable's report goes to Tynwald
A Douglas South MHK says some elderly people are 'living in fear' due to anti-social behaviour.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts' annual report was received by Tynwald this morning (21 July).
It highlighted a 'year like no other' in which crime on the Island rose by 18 per cent.
Members debated the outcome of the report with some sharing the experiences of their constituents.
Paul Quine gave examples of what officers are up against:

Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
Charges now in place for those sending parcels to the EU
