Politicians vote to postpone motion in Tynwald
Politicians are calling for more details as to how an additional £20 million for healthcare will be spent.
Treasury Minister Alex Allinson asked Tynwald to approve a supplementary vote which would increase the Department of Health and Social Care’s budget for the financial year.
It would see money come from the General Reserve and cover Manx Care’s expected £15.8 million overspend, potential tertiary costs and other risks to the forecast.
But Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson challenged that proposal:
Tynwald members ultimately voted to postpone the motion.
