Local man hopes to raise £5k for cause
A special 'not in the pub' quiz is being held in Douglas tonight (21 June) in honour of Manx addiction charity Motiv8.
The charity saw 5,500 'pairs of footsteps' cross their one-to-one or group counselling settings at a cost of over £600,000.
This evening's event is being hosted by Reverend Alex Brown, who's hoping to raise £5,000 for the cause by his 50th birthday in August.
Nicola Browne from Motiv8 says fundraisers like this 'mean everything' to the charity.
A director of the charity, Alex told Lewis Foster what people can expect if they go along:
Tonight's 'not in the pub quiz' gets underway at Bohemian Coffee House on Victoria Street in Douglas from 7:30pm until 9pm.
It's open to anyone, with a minimum entry fee of £5.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, you can find out more about Motiv8's services via the website or by freephone 0808 1624 627 or 627656.
