But government refuses to confirm if any have been suspended
Government has refused to confirm if any anaesthetists have been suspended at Noble's Hospital.
It follows online speculation that a number of the medical professionals have been stopped from working.
Last week Health Minister David Ashford said there was a 'specific problem' with the availability of anaesthetists which was impacting elective surgery.
The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed to Manx Radio that an investigation is being conducted into 'an incident' at the hospital which happened earlier this year.
In a statement it adds: "Given that the outcome of the investigation is yet to be determined it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage."
