The Steam Packet has cancelled the round trip of the Ben-my-Chree which was due to leave Douglas for Heysham tomorrow evening.
The company say it's because of a combination of a technical problem and the forecast of severe weather.
One of the vessel's two bow thrusters needs urgent repair work and, given the expected conditions, the Ben would be unable to sail with only one thruster operating.
It's hoped the repair work will be completed by Wednesday morning and the 08.45am sailing that day will depart as scheduled.
The company is telephoning passengers and freight customers today to make alternative arrangements.
Further information is available from the Steam Packet, on 01624 661661.
