Today's negotiations over bus drivers' pay went badly from the start.
That's according to Bobby Morton, the Unite National Manager for Passenger Transport, who says the drivers were left with no other option but to uphold their strike action.
Mr Morton says there may be further strikes after the one planned for this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
He outlines where he thinks today's negotiations went wrong:
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of the DCCL says he tried his best to cushion the blow for bus drivers' in today's talks.
Nick Black says the union rejected fresh proposals which included new terms to drivers' sick pay.
He says his department simply has to make the £300,000 savings.
