Tynwald committee hears evidence from DHSC Interim CEO
The health department's interim CEO says suicide is "a national issue, not a mental health issue."
Angela Murray gave evidence to Tynwald's Social Affairs Policy Review Committee yesterday, as part of its ongoing investigation into suicide on the Isle of Man.
Last week, the panel heard from the health minister and director of public health.
Mrs Murray says it would make sense for the Public Health Directorate to be dealing with the topic here, as such bodies do elsewhere:
She also spoke to the committee about the pilot scheme which has placed two registered mental health nurses with the police force:

'Essential' that school staff recognise the signs of an allergic reaction
'High' risk of wildfires over the next week
'Come From Away' to continue after cast member injured during rehearsal
'Parks in worse state then when I started' says Peel commissioner
