Island's collective effort to mark World Suicide Prevention Day
"A community standing together is a community that’s stronger."
That’s the message from charities and organisations which are joining forces on the Isle of Man today to mark World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September).
The Samaritans, Bereaved Survivors of Suicide, Isle Stand Up to Suicide and Ed’s Space are amongst those taking part in efforts to ‘change the narrative’.
2026 marks the third, and final, year of the triennial theme which aims to encourage people to start conversations.

The ‘Walk in Their Shoes’ memorial will also return to Strand Street in Douglas as a poignant reminder of the 50 people whose death was recorded as suicide by the coroner between 2021 and 2025.
