Affected residents have been notified by letter

Surface dressing works will begin on Saturday (26 July) in a number of areas around the Island.

The Department of Infrastructure says as a result, roads will be closed to vehicular traffic and on-street parking will be suspended.

It says affected residents have been notified by letter, and information boards are in place at each site.

There will also be marked diversion routes.

The details in full:

AFTER SURFACE DRESSING

  • Over the course of several days, roads will be swept a number of times to remove loose chippings
  • From Saturday 2 August, KielyLock will be applied to seal and protect the surface. KielyLock is a road surface treatment developed by Kiely Bros Ltd, used alongside surface dressing. Its main purpose is to "lock" the chippings into the road surface, which helps to prevent water ingress, reduce the risk of damage to the road, improve durability and longevity of the treated surface.
  • Road markings will be reinstated from Sunday 3 August. Providing the weather is conducive, relining will take about a week to complete.

The work is being undertaken by the DoI’s contractor, Kiely Bros. Ltd., and may have to be rescheduled if there is wet weather.
