A woman who was identified as carrying drugs by a sniffer dog has been given a three month prison sentence, suspended for two years, by the High Bailiff.
Twenty-seven year old Collette Anne Crompton, of the Quay, Port St Mary admitted importing and possessing drugs.
Crompton was detained at the Sea Terminal on September 19, after a sniffer dog directed his handler to her. She had amphetamine, cannabis resin and cannabis bush.
Her advocate said the drugs were solely for her own use. She bought them in the United Kingdom and did not contribute to the 'chain' on the Island.
The High Bailiff said the defendant had no history of drug related convictions, but appeared to ignore court orders. He was reluctantly suspending the sentence and warned her what would happen if it was breached.
