19-year-old will be sentenced at higher court
A Douglas teenager who fractured a man's eye socket in an attack outside a pub has been committed to the court of General Gaol Delivery.
Nineteen-year-old Connor Ethan Gilardoni, of Tynwald Street, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on 23 October last year.
Gilardoni struck up a conversation with his victim outside the Commercial in Ramsey but turned violent, pushing the man – who responded by pushing him back.
However he then launched a number of punches to the face as the man tried to walk away from the incident.
Magistrates said their powers of sentencing were insufficient to deal with the case and would commit it to the higher court.
Gilardoni was bailed and he's next due to appear on 11 March.
