£4000 cash found in sock
A pair of teenagers have appeared in court after being found with a significant haul of drugs and cash.
The pair, aged 17 and 19, were arrested in Anagh Coar after being tracked down by police intelligence on 17 August.
Prior to his arrest, the 17-year-old was found with a bag of white powder along with £4,000 hidden in a sock.
The powder turned out to be creatine - a legal protein supplement commonly used by bodybuilders - but a subsequent search of his home turned up a quantity of the prescription drug Xanax, which his defence argued helped him to sleep.
He will appear in court again on 12 December.
The older male was charged with posessing 78 grams of cannabis, with a street value of almost £450.
He's been bailed until his next court appearance on 4th of December.
