Lecture to explore feats of engineering
A year-long celebration of the Island’s built environment will near a close this evening.
Doctoral student Andrew Walters is due to present the final lecture of the History and Heritage series, in an event jointly organised with Isle of Architecture.
Described as part 'sci-fi, part philosophical intrigue, and part-architectural controversy', he’ll be speaking about the nature and meaning of ‘weightless’ architecture at Elmwood House off Glencrutchery Road in Douglas, at 6pm.
Weightless architecture refers to those buildings and structures which appear to defy gravity - many examples of which can be found worldwide.
All are welcome, and no booking is required.
