Chronicles three decades of images
Memories of summer on the Isle of Man in the 1950s, 60s and 70s are captured in a new exhibition which opens today (Saturday).
The House of Manannan in Peel features some of the thousands of images from the Manx Press Pictures archive.
It was owned and run by Bill Peters who, along with his staff, photographed thousands of events and key moments in the Island’s recent past; from Tynwald Day and sporting events to social occasions and weddings.
‘This Is Summer’ captures popular occasions and locations on the Island over three decades - including an era of long summer days, packed beaches, visiting celebrities, protests and interesting adverts.
