Garff Commissioners says his legacy will be remembered with great respect
Garff Commissioners is paying tribute to a former member and chair of its board following his death.
Nigel Dobson served on the local authority for almost 15 years until 2021, and has been described by the commissioners as a much-valued, popular and highly respected colleague.
The board says he was the driving force behind the installation of two play areas in Lonan, played a key role in fundraising following the Laxey floods in 2019 and volunteered for the Laxey and Lonan Heritage Trust.
Mr Dobson also stood in multiple House of Keys elections, and was a candidate in the recent Onchan Commissioners by-election.
Garff adds that his legacy will be remembered with great respect and gratitude by his fellow commissioners.
