Its been claimed that "certain senior Manx politicians" are not acknowledging the true HIV position because "it would show the island in a bad light".
The accusation comes as two groups, the IOM HIV support Group and IOM Rainbow Foundation say they have had a useful meeting with the Director of Public Health.
The groups are to plan an awareness campaign started later this year.
