Community honour goes to tourist rescuers
The organisers of a site matching stuck tourists with generous Manx residents have been recognised for their efforts.
Sandra Diamond, Barbara Kneene and Margaret Cain have been awarded the Pokerstars Spirit of TT Award 2017, for founding and managing the TT & MGP Helpline Facebook group.
Hundreds of visitors have been saved from miserable conditions this year by locals volunteering spare beds and amenities via the site.
Even in the festival's closing weekend, delayed and 'soggy' bikers continue to find warm showers and lifts to the Sea Terminal.
The three founders say the group's 5,000-plus members 'deserve the award as much as them'.
