BMW rider was clocked at 58mph in a 30 zone
A first-time TT visitor to the Isle of Man has been fined £378 after being caught riding his motorbike at almost double the speed limit.
Daniel Mark Richardson, of Cecil Road in Bristol, was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse after admitting speeding at the Ramsey Hairpin.
Police clocked the 32-year-old doing 58 miles-per-hour in the 30 zone just after 3pm on 5 June.
In mitigation Richardson apologised saying it was his first time at TT and he’d thought the entry to the one-way system signalled the start of the unrestricted zone.
“I understand the potential dangers it could have caused,” he added.
Magistrates also ordered Richardson to pay prosecution costs of £50 and endorsed his licence with eight penalty points.
