CPA trip examines procedures and legislation
A group of Tynwald members has today travelled to Edinburgh for a study visit to the Scottish Parliament.
The delegation, headed by the President of Tynwald Steve Rodan MLC, includes MHK's Geoffrey Boot, Rob Callister and Bill Shimmins, and MLC's Tanya August-Hanson and Kerry Sharpe.
They're accompanied by Deputy Clerk of Tynwald Jonathan King.
The visit, organised through the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, will allow the group to examine the procedures and practices of the Scottish Parliament, focusing on legislation, committee work and youth engagement.
Members will also have a chance to meet the presiding officer of the Scottish Parliament, Ken Macintosh MSP, and other MSPs from all political parties.
The costs of Tynwald members’ parliamentary off-Island travel are posted on the Tynwald website.
