A requisition meeting in Peel last night about the so-called toilet tax attracted an audience of around 100 people, who remained firmly oppposed to the new charge
The meeting was chaired by Captain of the Parish of German John Kennaugh and a petition with 300 names collected from around Peel was presented to local MHK MHK Tim Crookall.
Those gathered listened to Mr Crookall, Michael MHK Alf Cannan and Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw.
Also in attendance were Ray Harmer, chairman of Peel Commissioners, Peel commissioner Eric Faragher and Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
A motion at the end of the meeting saw a unanimous vote against the toilet tax, which will be relayed to all Tynwald members by Peel Commissioners Ian Davison and Jeff Birkett who called the meeting.
These people said they'd heard nothing to change their view that the tax was unfair
