Ongoing pay dispute meant cover wasn't available, according to Julie Edge
Ongoing industrial action by some teachers meant one secondary school had to ask some students to stay at home last week.
That's according to Education Minister Julie Edge, who has been giving evidence to a Tynwald select committee this morning.
Ballakermeen High School had to ask some pupils to study at home between Wednesday and Friday last week due to staff illness.
Ms Edge says the current action by one union, the NASUWT, means not enough teachers were available to provide cover:
