Claim sector offers poor wages and conditions
The local branch of Unite the Union says it will be making its views known about the new work permit exemption for the Island's hospitality sector.
The move, which came into effect yesterday (Wednesday) and runs until the end of October, has been hailed by certain affected employers, who say they can't fill all the positions available with local staff.
But Eric Holmes of Unite says this is indicative of the lower wages and poorer working conditions in the sector.
He says the union will speak out:
