Three years of slurs against clergyman
An Island vicar is taking his campaign to stamp out racism in the Anglican Church to Tynwald court next week.
Dr Jules Gomes is vicar of both St Mary’s in the Harbour and St Columba’s and says from the moment he moved to the Island three years ago he’s been subjected to racist bullying.
On Tynwald day, he’ll present two petitions calling for the court to toughen up Manx race legislation and bring in better employment laws for clergy.
Indian-born Dr Gomes says the problems aren’t with parishioners, who’ve all been very welcoming:
