Government logos being used to promote fraudulent activity
The Isle of Man's Office of Cyber Security and Information Assurance is warning people to be wary of adverts for fake 'free online courses' on social media.
Cyber criminals are impersonating the Department of Education, Sport and Culture using government logos to appear more credible.
Police are advising residents to be 'very wary' of new and unfamiliar offers, which seem enticing, and to avoid making any payments unless certain an advert is genuine.
Scams can be reported directly to Facebook.
