A big charity race in Douglas scheduled for Friday has been postponed.
The KPMG Promenade Relay for teams of two and four in corporate or non-corporate groups is aiming to raise thousands for Rebecca House children's hospice, which offers care and support for children with life-limiting or life threatening conditions.
However organisers say the forecast for Friday is very poor with gale force winds, heavy rain and sub-zero wind chill temperatures making conditions unsuitable for the event.
It will now take place on Friday 5th April. Attempts have been made to contact all team Captains to inform them of the postponement.
Arrangements for Friday 5th will remain the same, with the Claremont Hotel hosting the event and signing-on from 4.30pm and the race getting underway at 5.30.
Promenade transport will still run as scheduled.
