History of Port Erin's former lab showcased
A former director of the Port Erin Marine Laboratory says he would like to see another station of its kind built on the Island.
Dr Andy Brand, together with other employees and alumni at the world-renowned centre, is responsible for putting together an exhibition on the work done by the station before it closed in 2006.
This year would have marked 130-years of the internationally recognised building which opened in 1892.
The ‘Winkle Pickers’ exhibition is taking place at St Catherine’s Church Hall in Port Erin until Sunday (25 September).
Dr Brand says data collection would be as valuable today as it was then:
