A motorcyclist died from injuries received in a road accident near the Hawthorn public house on Monday afternoon.
Police say a blue Renault Modus was involved in a collision with the grey Suzuki motorcycle, which was being ridden towards Peel. A third vehicle, a blue Ford Mondeo, was also involved.
The two drivers have been traced by police, and officers investigating the crash are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They say there was a fair amount of traffic on the road when the incident occurred, at about 4.25pm.
The stretch of road from Ballacraine to Crosby was closed for about two and a half hours while emergency services carried out investigations.
The rider's next of kin and the coroner of inquests have been informed, but the rider won't be named until formal identification has been carried out.
