Already banned from licensed premises
A 46-year-old woman who stole alcohol from shops in Ramsey has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
The court heard Christine Ann Metaxas took the bottles because she was serving a previous ban from licensed premises and couldn't buy alcohol.
Her advocate Roger Kane tolod the court his client had already spent four four weeks in custody, allowing her time to tackle her alcoholism - and she was seeking help to deal with her problems.
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes sentenced Metaxas to 12 weeks in jail, minus the 26 days she has already spent in custody.
