Three Isle of Man residents are included in the Queen's New Year's honours list.
There are OBEs for inventor and horologist Dr John Taylor, and Alex Downie MLC, and conservationist Jean Buck gets an MBE.
Mr Downie has served as a coastguard volunteer for more than 40 years, but says he is mystified as to why he has been honoured for public service.
He says he is proud of his of his work to help diversify the Island’s economy (play audio file):
Mrs Buck says her honour, presented for services to conservation and wildlife, really belongs to the entire team at the Manx Wildlife Trust.
