Minister says there's not currently budget for speed cameras
Work is going on ‘behind the scenes’ to look at introducing a community speed watch initiative on the Isle of Man.
The home affairs and justice minister says it will involve the constabulary’s special constables.
Jane Poole-Wilson says the issues of speed and dangerous driving came up frequently during the General Election campaign last year.
But whilst she admits that police can’t be everywhere she says it’s unlikely that speed cameras could be brought in quickly as an alternative:
