Kenny Roberts was tempted in 70s
A former motorcycling world champion seriously considered taking part in the TT during the height of his fame.
Kenny Roberts, three times a 500cc title winner, reveals the news in a new motorcycling film called 'Yamaha; Racing Through History'.
It's claimed he was tempted by an offer to race in the mid 1970s as TT organisers looked to attract more top riders after the event lost its Grand Prix status.
His right-hand man at the time was former TT winner Kel Carruthers.
The DVD claims Roberts was presented with a lucrative package to take part in the TT.
