Sepsis survivor 'didn't appreciate' seriousness of illness
A sepsis survivor admits she didn't appreciate the seriousness of the condition until after she'd been diagnosed with it.
Ali Thomas is part of the Mannin Sepsis charity, which works to raise awareness of the potentially fatal illness.
Today is World Sepsis Day, which aims to highlight the symptoms to urge patients and doctors to think about sepsis.
Ali found out she had sepsis following a routine operation in 2016:
