Manxman impresses in 10,000m race in Germany
Isle of Man athlete, David Mullarkey has secured a silver medal at this week's World University Games in Germany.
The Manxman took second place in the final of the Men's 10,000m track race on Wednesday (23 July) in 28 minutes, 43.44 seconds.
His pace meant he only finished just over a second behind race winner, Brian Musau of Kenya who recorded a personal season-best time of 28 minutes, 42.39.
Completing the top three in third was Mario Priego Montero of Spain who managed a personal best of 28 minutes, 45.02 seconds.
Elsewhere, Mullarkey's campaign at the games will continue tomorrow (26 July) when he'll contest the final of the Men's 5,000m.
He qualified for that race yesterday after finishing third in his heat in 14 minutes, 42.01 seconds.
