Athletics: Wins for Nash & Mayers in annual 5k

Records broken in U15s and Over 40s groups

Andy Nash was crowned champion of the annual 5k at the NSC last night.

He won in a time of 15 minutes 51, finishing hot on his heels was Jack Okell just 2 seconds behind.

A new 40 Age Group record was set by Nhlanhla Nzama who came in third in 16 minutes 1 second.

Caroline Mayers was the women's winner in a time of 19.16, ahead of Laura Dickinson and Dawn Atherton.

And there were strong performances in the younger age groups by Lucas Stennett and Sam Perry.

Both beat David Mullarkey's IOM U15 record in finishing fourth and fifth in 16.07 and 16.20 respectively.
