They overcome Cavaliers and Cannons Elite in last-four phase
Report by Martin Dunne:
Wolves and defending champions DGU Jets will meet in the 2025/26 Basketball Championship Final after winning their semi-finals at the NSC.
Wolves beat Cavaliers 91-51, pulling away after a tight opening spell.
Despite Viktor Capkanovski’s slow start, Wolves found scoring through Seb Smith, Ross Wilson, Cameron Scott and Shane Collins.
Cavaliers stayed close early through Dave Minay, Mike Lewis and Daniel Dunajewski, but Wolves’ defensive pressure forced turnovers and opened fast-break chances.
A late first-half burst of three-pointers from Capkanovski and Wilson gave Wolves a 45-29 half-time lead, before Oscar Lace’s full-court pressure helped them dominate the second half.
DGU Jets defeated Cannons Elite 84-66 in a competitive second semi-final.
Cannons started strongly through Rowan Coulter and Oliver Hamilton, while their box-and-one defence disrupted Tom Dalton-Brown.
However, Jake Glover, Wayne Mears and Logan Glover helped Jets build a 41-29 half-time lead.
Dalton-Brown, Mattie Jennings and Tom Crosbie then pushed Jets clear after the break.
The final tips off at 8pm on Thursday, 14 May on the NSC Arena Court.
