Boxing: Burden and Devine to fight on same card next month

'The Grenade' hasn't stepped into the ring competitively since April

Isle of Man professional boxers Jade Burden and Jamie Devine will fight on the same card on Merseyside next month.

On social media today (7 November) Burden has confirmed she'll return to the ring for her final bout of 2024 on Sunday, 15 December at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.

She adds Devine is due to be on the same schedule that evening - the opponents for both Island competitors are yet to be confirmed.

Announcing the news, Burden is telling followers it's been a 'frustrating' couple of months but is 'happy to have a date and finish the year off strong.'

'The Grenade' has not fought since her professional debut - a points win over Sheree Barnes - in April.

She had been due to appear in September at Winter Gardens in Blackpool before her opponent Kerry Orton was a late withdrawal due to personal reasons..

A replacement fighter was found in the form of Rebecca Ferguson but that deal also fell through at the eleventh hour, at the time it was understood this was due to necessary documentation not being filed before the deadline.

Elsewhere it's a quick turnaround for Devine who was last in action on Sunday, 13 October where he extended his 100 per cent pro record to five victories with a points win over Lithuanian competitor Simas Volosinas at Grand Centrall Hall in Liverpool.
